George Henry Bliss was born in 1818 in Strood, Kent, England, United Kingdom. His parents were John Bliss and Mary Eleanor Ashton. George was baptised on 17 January 1819 in Rochester, St Nicholas, Kent, England.[1]
He married Honour Blackman, daughter of Charles Blackman and Mary Woodnut, on 9 May 1844 at Clerkenwell, London, England.[2]Together they had 2 children:
In the 1851 census George was 32 years old and living with his wife and two children at their home in Bishop Stoke, Hampshire, England. He was employed as a builder.[3]
