Biography

Alexander was born October 11, 1753 in Springfield, Massachusetts Bay. He was the son of Jedediah Bliss and Miriam Hitchcock. He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. He was a tanner by trade. He married Margaret Warner (who died March 21, 1788) November 18, 1784, they had two children.

He then married Abigail Williams in 1790. Alexander and Abigail had 10 children. Following Abigail's death in 1807, Alexander married widow Lucy Pico Gardner, in 1810.

He passed away, in Springfield, Massachusetts, July 18, 1843.
