Jackson was born in 1902. After graduating from Berkeley (CA) High School, he attended the University of Oregon. He was a Forest Grove HS civics teacher for many years. He passed away in 1978. [1]

Jackson A. Bliss Obituary
Mr. Bliss was born Nov. 7, 1902 at Monrovia, Calif. He attended school there and graduated from high school in Berkeley. He then attended the University of Oregon where he played baseball and football. After graduation, he played semi-pro baseball in the San Francisco Bay Area and in the Eugene area. He taught and coached baseball, football and basketball in high schools in Ashland, Oakland and Forest Grove. He came to Forest Grove in 1944 and taught there until retiring in 1967.
He married Beatrice Lockhart on June 16, 1936. She survives at the family home. Also surviving are a son, Meredith Bliss of Davis, Calif.; and a sister Irene Hardy of San Diego. A son William died in December, 1974.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge, AF&AM No. 30 of Forest Grove.
