From Belle Plaine (Minnesota) Herald, April 15, 1965:

---Mrs. Walter Siemon Died in Her 85th Year---

Mrs. Effie Siemon, widow of the late Walter Siemon, died April 11, 1965, at the New Prague hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks. Her husband had died last December 9th.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bliss and was born at Canby, Minn., July 31, 1880, and came as a girl to live with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Bliss, near Belle Plaine.

On November 24 sixty-one years ago, she was married to Walter Siemon at the Belle Plaine Presbyterian church. The couple lived on the farm in Belle Plain township until Mr. Siemon's death, and then she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Siemon.

She was the mother of four children, of whom one son died a few years ago in California. Her surviving children are son, Arthur, near Union Hill, and two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Hazel) Vale, Sioux City, Iowa; and Mrs. George (Ruth) Voita, South St. Paul.
