Dr John McCance Blizzard was born on 13 June 1817 in Dunmurry, Antrim, his father, Conway, was 43 and his mother, Rachel, was 33. He married Jane McCance and they had one son together. He also had one daughter from another relationship. He died on 22 March 1862 in Lancashire, Lancashire, at the age of 44.
