Gustave Bloch was a prominent historian of Ancient History, and the father of historian Marc Bloch.

Gustave Bloch was born on 21 July 1848 in Fegersheim. He was the son of Marc Bloch and Rose Aron. He married Sara Ebstein on 26 March 1878 in the second arrondissement of Lyon.[1]
