Tom (Blocker) Brooks is a part of US Black heritage.

Tom, a boy, was sold for $151.00 by Jesse Blocker (1780-1831) on December 5, 1831 to Whitfield Butler Brooks Sr. (1790-1851).^[1]

Research Notes

USBH Naming Conventions for Slaves: LNAB based on the first slave owner. Current last name based on most recent slave owner. In Other Last Names list all other slave owners.

After reviewing numerous slave appraisals I found that the young and old were valued less than others; females less than males. Based on this I estimated that Tom was about 8 years old when sold by Jesse Blocker (1780-1831). The death date is for after the last transfer record. Everything can be modified as more records are found.
