Biography
John Blomfield was born in Essex, England.
John Blomfield was born on the 8 September 1841[1] in Essex, England. He was the son of John Blomfield (born in 1813) and Susan Raynham ( born in 1817).
He married Emma King in 1862 in Colchester.[2][3]
In 1871, the family are in Colchester with two children, Harriet, 7[4], and Alfred, 6, and a boarder, John Baldwin, 41.[5] Emma died later that year.[6]
John married Louisa Mary Ann Wright on 13 July, 1873 at St John, Battersea, Wandsworth[7]. She was 24 years of age at the time of her marriage, and John was 32. Both their fathers were gardeners as was John.
Two weeks later on 31 July, 1873, John, his wife, and two children from his first marriage boarded the Lady Jocelyn and emigrated to New Zealand.[8]

On the 1st of January 1891 John and Louisa were living at 62 Burke Street Invercargill. By the times their son Sydney went to war on the 1st December 1919; John had sadly passed away.
John died at the age of 69[10]
