[NOTE: several sources say Samuel drowned in the Merrimac River, and other sources say the wife of Robert Blood, an avid swimmer, drowned in the Merrimac River. Samuel wrote his will in April 1740, and it says he is' weak of body', and the witnesses to the will later testified to that fact. It appears he may not have drowned. CH]
