Biography

Kate Florence Bloomfield (aka Kathleen) was born on 26 Jul 1887 in Weeley, Essex, England to Frederick James Bloomfield and Rosetta (Punchard) Bloomfield. Her birth was registered in Tendring, Essex in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Punchard.[1]

In 1891 Kate F Blumfield (age 3) lived at Colchester Road in Weeley with her father Frederick (37, Agricultural Labourer), mother Rosetta (34), and six siblings: Jane A (16, General Servant Domestic), William E (12), Ruth E (9), John C (6), Maude M (5), and Rosetta (1).[2]

In 1901 Kate Blomfield (age 13, Scullery Maid Domestic) lived in Colchester, Essex in the household of her employer Ann Roberts.[3]

In 1911 Kathleen Florence Bloomfield (age 26) lived in Weeley with her father Fredrick (59, Labour), mother Rosetta (57), and boarder Francis Albert Norris (26, Soldier).[4]

Kathleen F Bloomfield married Alan J Murphy in 1919. The marriage was registered in Tendring in the second quarter of the year.[5]

Kate and Allan had one daughter:

Kate's husband passed away in 1956:

  • "MURPHY Allan Joseph of 44 Maldon-road Colchester died 1 August 1956 at Black Notley Hospital Braintree Essex Probate Ipswich 6 September to Kate Florence Murphy widow. Effects £405 1s. 5d."[6]

Kate Florence Murphy passed away in 1973. Her death was registered in Colchester in the second quarter of the year - registration includes her date of birth: 26 Jul 1887.[7]
