Biography

Pierre Blot was born 11/3/1762[1]

He married Marie Josephe Lefort Laforest in 1787 and then Theotiste Paulin in 1799[2]

John Bilow's research indicates that he was a private in Moses Hazen's Regiment in the American Revolution.

He is NAMED on Harriette Blow's application, member 62444 to the DAR as her grandfather (under the name Blow) and the husband of his wife, Theotiste Paulin, her grandmother, yet he isn't recognized as a veteran.

He is often confused with Pierre Boilleau. The Boilleau/Boileau families were the source of the "Bilow" family of upstate NY. Pierre Bleau ancestored the "Blow" families of the same area. If he were the veteran, then his granddaughter, Harriett would have named him as such on her application along with continuing on to her great Grandfather, Antoine Paulint. I am currently trying to contact the other cousins about this.

Bleau-75 and Blot-31 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are now ready to merge. I believe that these are the two that you intended to request last time. I've corrected the birthdate to make the merge easier. Also, we should change the last name to Blot since that is what the Baptism record reads, but still indicate that he went by the name Bleau. As per Wikitree directions.

Hi, Sue, this person is married to Theotiste Marie Paulin and so is another different Pierre Blot/Bleau/Blow and that other marriage has good documentation. This Pierre's other wife of Laforest/Lafort is also documented for the other Pierre (and is a little suspect here as there is no marriage date). Could you review the sources of these marriages to be sure which Pierre belongs to these wives? The other profile is Bleau-75. I finally found your Pierre! Based on his son who enlisted in spring 1780 at age 15, the son was born about 1765, so Pierre must have been born about 1745 or so. Based on the parents named in the profile (Rene and Marie Anne Robert, this Pierre was born in 1737. see images. A different wife altogether.

Boileau-100 and Boileau-149 do not represent the same person because: Not enough evidence at this time to over ride John Bilow's research.

Boileau-100 and Boileau-149 appear to represent the same person because: The Information for Boileau-149 would indicate that he was age 10 when made a lieutenant in the Army. The birth and death information for Boileau -100 fits better for this individual. Also Pierre Bleau (Bleau-75) birth fits the dates given for Boileau-149, and there are church records showing marriages to Bleau-75 attributed to Boileau-149
