Janine, just a few more tips:

Make sure all living persons have the security setting of the red lock.

Documentation and Sources are very important for accuracy.

Try to put at least one birth or death date or place on each profile. If you don't know an exact date then make an estimate and click before or after [whatever the date is]. This will make discovering duplicates so much easier.

Once you start creating profiles on WikiTree and see all the possible duplicates with no dates or places to compare, you'll understand the importance of this.

Just a few pointers.

i am trying to continue with the work my mother and grandmother before her have done on our family tree. i am relatively new to genealogy, having only started 3 years ago. i have already met a number of relatives online who have helped me figure out many loose ends and would love to be able to contribute to others work if able.
