He was the son of Charles Blowsnake and Lucy Goodvillage.
Name
In a photograph by van Schaick, his name is given WoeGinNawGinKah which is for Wojįną̄žįga, "Strikes Standing", from wojį, "to strike" (< wa-, "them"; and hojį́, "to strike, beat [as a drum or person]"); ną̄žį, "to stand"; and -ga, a definite article suffix used in personal names.
His birth order name, as the second son, is Hénaga.
