Biography

William Blum was born March 11 1848 in Kondringen, Emmendingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany to Carl WIlhelm Blum (1824-1894) and Marie Barbara Schiller/Shindler (1831-1871).

He married Caroline Mossinger (1853-1928) daughter of Georg "Karl" Mossinger and Caroline Jenne, September 12 1871 In Germany.

He came to America in 1878 and settled in the Omaha Area where his brother Andrew helped him gain work as a laborer at a local brewery.

In 1882 he moved to the White Lake South Dakota area where he and Caroline homesteaded and lived out their years.

They raised a family of ten Children. Charles, Mary, Fred, Lena, Anna, Ella, Arthur, Dena, Erwin, and Otto.


William died September 20 1922, at White Lake South Dakota.
