1558 William Blundell was the son of Richard Blundell and Anne Starkey and was born in the year of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne 1558 according to the Crosby Records. [1]. Visitation of of Lancashire by William Dugdale gives 1560 [2]
1595 he was detained in prison for the same offence as his father, that of hiding a seminary priest and was transferred to the Gatehouse Prison, Westminster. [3].
He was called "the Recusant" because he refused to change to the Church of England but continued to be a "Papist"
William gave land at Harkirke, Little Crosby for the burial of Recusant Catholics who were refused burial by the Parish church. he is also associated with a find of Saxon coins supposedly dated to 913AD
1678 William Blundell died at Little Crosby on the 2 July 1638 aged 78 [4]
