Hi Richard,

Is it possible that this is the baptism for Walter: "England, Leicestershire Parish Registers, 1533-1991," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QP43-X1CQ : 6 June 2018), Walter Raymond Blunt, 4 Oct 1897; records extracted by findmypast, images digitized by FamilySearch; citing Baptism, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom, page 151, Citing the Record Office of Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland, Wigston, UK.

This could be his birth registration here: (A search result on [1] adds a mothers maiden name : BRAILSFORD) "England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2F7D-468 : 1 October 2014), Walter Raymond Blunt, 1897; from "England & Wales Births, 1837-2006," database, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : 2012); citing Birth Registration, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, citing General Register Office, Southport, England.

If so, then this could be him in the 1901 census: "England and Wales Census, 1901," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XS4G-LNN : 21 May 2019), Walter R Blunt in household of Arthur H Blunt, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom; from "1901 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing South Leicester subdistrict, PRO RG 13, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey.

And again in the 1911 census: "England and Wales Census, 1911," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X75N-DKF : 18 July 2019), Walter Raymond Blunt in household of Arthur Henry Blunt, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom; from "1911 England and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO RG 14, The National Archives of the UK, Kew, Surrey.

Here is a possible death registration here: (this record here gives a birth date of 13 Jun 1897) "England and Wales Death Registration Index 1837-2007," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVZS-VYVV : 4 September 2014), Walter Raymond Blunt, 1978; from "England & Wales Deaths, 1837-2006," database, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : 2012); citing Death Registration, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England, General Register Office, Southport, England.

I searched to see if Arthur Henry Blunt married Ellen...could she have been maiden name BRAILSFORD, and I found this record: "England, Leicestershire Parish Registers, 1533-1991," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QP4H-FX5B : 6 June 2018), Artthur Henry Blunt and Ellen Brailsford, 12 May 1889; records extracted by findmypast, images digitized by FamilySearch; citing Marriage Banns, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom, page 50, citing the Record Office of Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland, Wigston, UK.

Kindest regards, Pam

Hi Pam

Many thanks for your research. I believe your questions about Walter Blunt's parents to be correct. I am trying to merge Walter Raymond Blunt's two entries now. He did tell my mother that we were related to a historian who was once imprisoned. I am absolutely sure that he was referring to Wilfred Scawen Blunt (1840-1922). I am trying to find out where our families are linked. Best regards, Richard Burton.
