Myrtie Bly was born in the Top Not neighborhood of northern Shenandoah County, Virginia, daughter of Daniel and Harriet Orndorff Bly, married Russell Coffman and lived at Fishers Hill, in Shenandoah County. Myrtie was left a widow with four small children to raise and never remarried. She died in Warren County, Virginia, at the home of her daughter, Irene.
