Biography

William Ellis Boardman was born on June 1, 1869 in Hartford, Conecticut (Wethersfield?), the child of Thomas Jefferson Boardman and Mary Charlina Ellis. He lived with his family until his marriage. [1] [2]

An interesting fact is that at age 21 he applied for membership in the U.S. Sons of the American Revolution and his membership was accepted. [3]

Before 1930 he married Bertha Rogers, as he is listed in the 1930 census as a salesman in coffee wholesale living in Hartford on Asylum Street with his wife. [4] In 1940 his occupation is listed as "Wage or salary worker in private work," and they have moved to Myrtle Street (also in Hartford). [5] He died January 6, 1957 in Hartford, Connecticut and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery near the rest of his family. [6]
