Lewis Bobbitt performed Patriotic Service in North Carolina in the American Revolution.
Lewis Bobbitt was born circa 1742, in the Halifax District of North Carolina. Lewis was reimbursed for serves rendered in Halifax District, during the American Revolutionary War. [1] Lewis Bobbitt is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A011626 . DAR Records indicate that he lived in the Halifax District and that he died before May, 1818, in Warren county, North Carolina, formed in 1779 from the northern half of Bute County. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his sons, James Bobbitt, who married Mary Gunn; and of his son, Miles Bobbitt, who married Susan Gunn. [2]
