Biography
The son of George Bodine and Ann (Van Nest) Bodine, Edward Bodine was born in Ovid, New York in 1847.[citation needed] He lived there with his family.[1][2] His mother passed away in 1857 and his father in 1868; in 1870, Edward and his oldest brother, Thaddeus Bodine, lived in the hotel "Franklin House" in Ovid, New York.[3] His brother worked as a lawyer and, that year, Edward sold musical instruments. By 1880, Edward lived with his sister, Phoebe Lott, and her husband, residing in Lodi, New York.[4] His brother, John, also lived in the household and, that year, Edward did not list an occupation on the federal census enumeration.
His sister passed away in 1890 and her husband in 1892; in 1900, Edward Bodine lived in Lodi with his brother, Peter, and Peter's third wife, Mina.[5] That year, Edward worked as a real estate agent. Peter Bodine passed away in 1902 and Edward moved into the home of his niece, Frances Lott, in Lodi.[6][7] Frances Lott was the daughter of Phoebe Bodine's husband's first wife; her father had passed away in 1892 and her stepmother in 1890. Edward Bodine remained in his nieces' home through 1920, when he worked in Lodi as a lawyer.[8]
Edward Bodine passed away in Waterloo, New York at the age of 73[9] and is buried at West Lodi Cemetery in Lodi, New York.[10]
