Jørgen Jørgensen Boe was born on 18 November 1850 in Bø, Telemark, Norway.[1] He was the son of Jørgen Pederson Boe and Ingeborg Thorsdatter Vatner.[2] He was baptized on 24 November 1850 in Bø.[3]

In 1865, he lived with his uncle Gregar Pedersen Boe.[4] His occupation was Tjenestedreng (servant).[5]

Jorgen sailed from Christiania (now Oslo) with his family on the Vanadis on 12 May 1866 and arrived in Quebec, Canada on 2 July 1866.[6]

He married his second cousin Aaste Halvorsdatter Otterholt on 17 December 1873 in Rock Dell, Olmsted County, Minnesota.[7]

On 13 August 1880, Jorgen applied for a land patent under the Homestead Act of 1862, for 40 acres of land located in the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section 34 of Township 120 North of Range No. 41 west of the Principal Meridian, Swift County, Minnesota. His application was commuted when he paid cash for the land on 8 June 1882. He received his certificate on 25 July 1882.[8].

In 1897, Jorgen, his brother-in-law Erick Halvorson, and L. S. Saterlie were appointed to a Minnesota state committee on a bridge that was to be built over the Chippewa River in Swift County, Minnesota, between the towns of West Bank and Swenoda. They were to view the bridge upon its completion; to examine contracts, ledgers and accounts; and to make a report to the state auditor.[9]

Jorgen died on 17 December 1900 in West Bank, Swift County, Minnesota.[10] He was buried in Big Bend Lutheran Church Cemetery, Milan, Chippewa County, Minnesota.[11]

In Jørgen's birth record his parents are mentioned. His father is Jørgen Pedersen and his mother is Ingeborg Thorsdatter. They are from Bøe.[12]

Jørgen and Ingeborg married 13 June 1848 in Bøe. Jørgen Pedersen is 28 and from Bøe. His father is Peder Jørgensen. Ingeborg Thorsdatter is 18. Her father is Thor Thorsen.[13]

Jørgen Pedersen was born 13 February 1820. His parents were Peder Jørgensen and Kari Halvorsdatter, from Bøe[14]

Ingeborg Thorsdatter was born 13 July 1830. Her parents were Thor Thorsen and Ingebor Anundsdatter[15]
