Biography

Saartje Bogardus was born about March 1661 in Albany, New Amsterdam, a daughter of Willem Bogardus and his first wife named Wyntje Sybrandts. Her baptism entry shows her name in the Dutch language thus the entry reads "Styie." Baptism 16 March 1661 at Manhattan Collegiate Church ^[1]
