Biography

Benjamin, of Jacob Vos and Jannetje Quakelbosch, was born on 08 Mar 1698 and baptized on 09 Mar 1698 [1] [2]

Talcott claimed that Benjamin married Anna Hallenbeck of Isaac Caspers Hallenbeck and Dorothy Bosch. [3] Benjamin definitely married an Anna Hallenbeck and this is the correct family based on the names of the children and the witnesses to their baptisms, but there are questions regarding Anna's parents. [4]

  8. 1746 12 Jan Anna and Isaak, of Benjamin Bogaard and Anna Halenbeek. Wit.: Pieter and Rebecca Bogaard, Wouter Vroman, Maria Halenbeek. [5]

Talcott has several of the baptism records as occurring in a different year, probably because of the Julian calendar issue.

An Anatje Halenbeek appears in the baptism and marriage records around the same time as Anna Hallenbeck but they are clearly not the same person. [5]
