Corp James Boggs served in the United States Civil War.

James was born in 1836. He was the son of Archibald Boggs. He married Amanda McPherson on 17 May 1857.

James moved with wife, children and parents to Grand River, Cass County, Missouri.

He served in the Civil War - 2nd Battalion, Missouri State Militia Cavalry - Age 27 - Married - 5th Congressional District - Union - Rank In Private - Rank Out - Eight Corporal.

He and his father were named in the Cass County Agricultural And Mechanical Association which was incorporated 14 August 1864. James helped build a public school system and was elected as part of a team to advance educational interests of their town.

James died on 22 Feb 1922 in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas and was buried in Westlawn Cemetery.
