Biography

Thomas was the son of Thomas Gilliland Boggs (1795 - 1889) and Eleanor Hamilton Boggs (1795 - 1885). He was the second of four known children:

  1. Jane Eleanor Boggs Chamblin (1821 - 1909)
  2. Thomas Hamilton Boggs (1823 - 1862)
  3. Joseph Addison Boggs (1825 - 1894)
  4. John Calvin Boggs (1831 - 1893)

Lt. Colonel, 2nd Rifles SC Volunteers, Pickens District, South Carolina,

Thomas was married to Martha A. Boggs (1824 - 1892) on 11/15/1845. (She was the daughter of William Wallace Hamilton and Martha Ann(Jane) McCann Hamilton.) These are their known children:

  1. Thomas Edward Boggs (1847 - 1877)
  2. Marcus Addison Boggs (1849 - 1927)

Thomas is buried at Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Liberty, Pickens County, South Carolina, USA.
