Nelson Boggs was born on February 26, 1868 in Virginia and died on March 20, 1962 in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky. He died of pneumonia, and is buried in Hensley Cemetery in Webbville, Lawrence County, Kentucky. He married Rose Ann Perkins on July 03, 1889 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. She was born in February 16, 1872 in Lawrence County, Kentucky and died on November 07, 1918 in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Her parents were Milton and Mary Ann 'Polly' Howard Perkins.
Nels and Polly had six children. Didama, Stephen, Polly, Raymond Russell, Lovell Marie and Shelley.
After Rose Ann's death, Nels married Sarah Kelley Hicks and had Irene.
He married thrice more to Melvina 'Mellie' Griffith, Carmie Perry and then to Maudie Phillips Lyons Boggs.
My father remembers Grandpa Nels quite well as he was nearly 15 when Nels died. In conversation with my dad and grandfather, Nels mentioned marrying Maudie because she was so much younger than him. He said he had to marry young because they kept dying on him and he couldn't take the heartache any more.

Nelson Boggs, 98, of Route 1, Louisa, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 20, in a Louisa hospital following an illness of two weeks.
Mr. Boggs, a retired blacksmith, was born Feb. 26, 1864, in Virginia, a son of the late Frank and Diadame Stiddam (sic) Boggs. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Dry Fork Community Church with the Rev. Gallie Isaac officiating. Burial was in Hensley Cemetery at Webbville. Mr. Boggs was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maudie Phillips Boggs, to whom he was married 32 years; two daughters, Mrs. F.W. Boggs and Mrs. Earl Miller, both of Columbus; two sons, Steven Boggs of Webbville and Russell Boggs of Blaine; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Terry, Pontiac, Mich., and Miss Esther Lyons, Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, Thomas and Sam Boggs of Wheelersburg, O.; 18 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. The body was at the Young funeral home and taken to the church one hour preceding the services.
