Biography

Samuel was born about 1801. He was the son of Charles Boggs and Mary Fraser.

He married Anne Currie.

In 1838, Samuel, library, Halifax was listed with a family consisting of 1 male child under six years of age [Charles], 2 female children under six years of age [Bessie, Rebecca], 3 females above fourteen years of age [Anne, his wife, prob. Anne Currie, his mother-in-law, ?], total 7 in family including himself.

He passed away 17 Aug 1866 and is buried in the Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. The 18 Aug 1866 edition of the Presbyterian Witness reported: “Samuel Boggs, d. Wed, s/o late Charles Boggs, in 65th year.”[1]

  2. Mary Ann Elizabeth (Bessie), b. 12 Aug 1835, d. 29 Mar 1915, unm. From 1864, until her death in 1915, she was an inmate of the Mount Hope Lunatic Asylum, Dartmouth, N. S.
  3. Rebecca, b. 9 Mar 1838, m. 22 Jan 1867 in Halifax, Edwin Collins Fairbanks.
