Biography

William was born in 1813. He is the son of Charles Boggs and Mary Fraser.

He married 1 May 1838 in Rawdon, Hants Co., Jessie Clow. She was born circa 1813 in England and died 6 Mar 1899 in Kentville. The 11 Mar 1899 edition of the Presbyterian Witness reported: “Jessie W. Boggs, w/o A. F. Boggs, d. 6 Mar at Kentville, aged 86."^[1]

In 1861, William F. was residing in Lower Stewiacke, Colchester Co. with a family consisting of 4 males and 1 female.^[2] Mary Boggs was residing nearby with a family consisting of 4 females.

In 1871, William, gentleman, 58, Jessie, 58, born England, and Margaret McKeegan, servant, 24, were residing in Halifax, Halifax Co.^[3]

In 1881, William, farmer, 68 and Jessie, 68, born England, were residing in Salmon River, Colchester Co. with their son Thomas and his family. Their grandson, William Edward, 13, was residing with them^[4]

In 1891, William, 78 and Jessie, 78, born England, were residing in Truro, Colchester Co. with Augusta Dodge, music teacher, 42 and her mother Charlotte Dodge, widow, 68, ^[5]

He died 29 Dec 1898 in Kentville, KIngs Co.

1. George Washington, b. 18 Aug 1839, m. 20 Jun 1870 at Sydney, Cape Breton, Annie Forman Hill, d. 25 Feb 1916 in Vancouver, British Columbia, no issue.
2. William Bambrick, b. 8 May 1842.
3. Thomas Morris, b. 16 Sep 1844, m. 17 May 1872 at Brookfield, Colchester Co., Louisa Hamilton.
