2nd Lieutenant Samuel Boggs served with Capt. Nathaniel Fales' Company, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Samuel Boggs II was born about 1725. He married Mary Giffin/Giffen/Griffen on June 28th, 1757 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1] They had at least three children together:

  1. Samuel Boggs III
  2. Anna (Boggs) Fuller
  3. Robert Boggs

Samuel passed away on July 28th, 1779 during the Penobscot expedition during the American Revolution.[2] He is buried in Comery Cemetery in Waldoboro, Lincoln, Maine, and shares a stone with his son, Samuel Boggs III.[3]

Revolutionary War Service

Samuel Boggs entered service on July 14th, 1779 as a 2nd Lieutenant in Captain Nathaniel Fale's company. He served 15 days during the Penobscot expedition by order of General Lovell and was reported killed on July 28th, 1779. He is buried in Comery Cemetery in Waldoboro, Lincoln, Maine. His granite marker was sent to Belle L. Preble of Hallowell, Maine on September 23rd, 1931 (order no. 34).[4][5][6][7]
