Catherine, or Kate as she was sometimes known, was born 15 Aug 1852 in Glengarry, Canada. She was the daughter of Irish-born immigrants, James and Lucy Brogue.[1]
The family immigrated to the United States in 1856,[2] and settled in upstate New York by at least 1870.[3]At that time her father was listed as a carpenter and she as a dressmaker.
On the third of July, 1872, she married a local Civil War Veteran, Albert Buell.[1] The couple would have two children, both sons, during their nearly-fifty years together.[1][4]
Albert would pass away in 1921. Catherine would live in the same vicinity until 30 May 1936, when she would pass away at the age of 83.[5][6]
