Biography
Jesse was born in Hiawatha, Kansas to William and Sarah Ann Greene Bogue. In 1902 he set out for Oregon with his brother-in-law Oliver F Swartz. He met members of his father's family in Sheridan and began working at a mill at Buell, a few miles from Sheridan. By the 1910 census, Jesse was in Reno, living in a rooming house with his brother, Claude. They were both carpenters, active in the early Carpenter's Union. Jesse spent the rest of his life in Reno. He married Jessie Leota Moe Jackson, and they had three children: Lena M (known as Billie), Robert Harvey and Annie Laurie.
