From the "Winona Republican-Herald" newspaper dated Friday, November 11, 1921: OBITUARY Death of John Bohn John Bohn, aged 75, died at 4 a.m. today at his home, 664 Winona Street. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday at the home by the Rev. G.E. Reibert and burial will be made at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Bohn was perhaps best known as a dairyman, having for many years conducted a milk business at Sugar Loaf. Five years ago, he sold out his business but continued to reside at Sugar Loaf up to two years ago when he removed to his Winona Street home. Mr. Bohn was the son of Heinrich and Anna Bohn, and was born in Germany in 1846. He followed an older brother, Jacob Bohn, to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1865. The family moved from there to Winona in 1868. Two years later, he was united in marriage to Mae Haberle here. His wife died in 1899 and a couple of years later, he was married again to Miss Amalie Schaffer. His widow, but no children survive. Also surviving are four brothers; Jacob, Adam, Diedrich, and Henry Bohn, all of Winona. One sister, Mrs. Lizzie Gerson, died about 16 years ago.
