PROMINENT WOMAN DEAD

Mrs. J. F. Bliss Succumbs Suddenly Friday From Attack of Heart Trouble

The community was shocked last Friday afternoon by the sudden death of Mrs. John F. Bliss. At 2 o'clock p. m., while she was walking past V. Weber's shoe store, she was suddenly seized with heart trouble. She proceeded, however, in getting into the store where she remarked that she had hurried too fast. After she had been given a chair in which to set she grew rapidly worse and a physician was summoned. The physician arrived within a few minutes but Mrs. Bliss was beyond medical aid and expired in five minutes after the doctor's arrival. Her trouble was brought on by over exertion and excitement. She had started from home to their drug store and was hurrying and somewhat frightened over an approaching storm and the exertion brought on acute dilation of the heart, which caused her death. Dr. Wilcox called Coroner Elliott, who ordered him to investigate and report on the cause of her death. A form of inquest was held and a certificate from Mr. Bliss, Sr. Price and Dr. Wilcox, stating the circumstances and the cause of death was sent to the coroner. Mrs. Bliss had been subject to slight heart trouble.

The entire community was deeply grieved and surprised at the news of Mrs. Bilss' death. She was in her fifty-second year and apparently a strong woman. Her untimely death is deeply deplored and the many friends of the family unite in the extending sincere sympathy to the stricken family.

The funeral was conducted form the M. E. church Monday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. John Small delivered t sermon and he was assisted by in the service by Rev. M. B. Wiles and Rev. C. T. Phillips. The business houses were all closed during the funeral hour and the church was taxed to its full capacity to accommodate the large audience present. Among the numerous floral offering was a beautiful piece contributed by the Business Mens' Association of which Mr. Bliss is president. Appropriate singing was rendered by a quartet of Miss Rie Henry and Wilma McMillen and Messrs Hawks and Moore.

The following obituary was read from the pulpit:

Dora Bohrer was born February 23, 1860 at South Port, near Oak Hill, Ill., moving with her parents to Princeville, when four months old and died October 12, 1912, aged 52 years.

She was united in marriage to John F. Bliss September 4th, 1881. Four children were born of this union, Frederick C., Bertha, Robin and Lewis all present today. Her mother, husband, children and two grand-children, Zella and Mildred and three sisters, Mrs. W. K. Blanchard of Peoria, Mrs. John Hoag, of Battle Creek, Mich., and Susie, of Princeville, mourn her loss.
