Biography

Charles Jenkins Bolen was born in 1860 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, when his father, William A Bolen, was 35 and his mother, Mary Rayner , was 28. ^[1]

He married Minerva Carrie Gregory on April 5, 1880, in Pontotoc County. ^[2] They had six children in 20 years.

In 1900, the family was farming on land that they owned free and clear. ^[3] In 1920, only their youngest son, Jim, was still living with them and their farm was mortgaged. ^[4]

He died in 1933 in Randolph,Mississippi, at the age of 73, and was buried in the Oak Forest Cemetery there. ^{[5] [6]}
