I digress, so when I saw your profile and that you are part of the name study I felt great pride that you thanked me for my little contributions and also to say if you'd like to see some of the hand written and typed information I have on the family I'd be happy to send it to you; albeit not much is "new" information but still interesting to read... Take Care, Becky Elizabeth (Simmons-11603)
Thanks for the "hello," and "hello" back! Joel Miller was the son of my 3rd great grandparents, Frederich Miller and Frances C. Bolch. Joel's brother, Adam Caleb Miller, and wife, Susannah Benfield, were my 2nd great grandparents. Frances Bolch and I both descend from Johan Adam Bolch, the first of our line to reach America from Germany in the mid-18th century. Here is where (with Harriet's marriage to Joel) you see Frances' line of Bolchs "die out" (i.e., becoming Millers) and mine continue on to me. My line will die out with me since one of my brothers had no children, one had two girls, and I had a boy and a girl, but my son died unmarried at age 20. Again, your contributions are not "little." They are meaningful to me in terms of my genealogy. Until I looked up your profile of Harriet, I had never seen her portrait. I guess Bolchs (now Bolicks, of course) were never the best looking bunch. All the best, Willie (Bolick-180)

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
I noticed that several of the profiles need GEDCOM cleanup (YouTube video). I recommend adding links to the profiles of family members, rather than removing as recommended in the video.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Thanks, again, for your kind note. Now that I am finally ready to begin on those Orphaned Profiles, I need to ask the most basic (and maybe most stupid) of questions: how do I find a list of the orphaned profiles that I adopted? Confusedly, Willie
The fastest way to find them is to click the Change tab on your profile. That will show the most recent 50 actions by you. You can either scroll down to find them or use the search function (Ctrl+F) to look for the word adopted.

We all appreciate your efforts to make our Shared Tree the best it can be.
Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!
