I was born in the late 1950s to Bob Bolitho and Val (Cronin) Bolitho and the eldest of their four children, with a brother and two sisters.
In 1972 I completed Form 4 (year 10) at Bendigo High School, followed by almost a full year at Bendigo Institute of Technology (BIT) where I was enrolled in a secretarial course. I left before the completion of the course to take a position as an office assistant at LAPCO Bendigo where I stayed for 4 months before taking a position at Myer Bendigo as an office assistant. I was employed by Myer for nearly 9 years before leaving to marry in 1981 and moving to Melbourne.
I married Paul Nankervis on October 31, 1981 in St Joseph's Catholic Church, Quarry Hill, Bendigo, Victoria.
We have 4 children, although our eldest son (Joel) passed away in 2003 from brain tumours, aged 19 years and 1 week.
In February 1982 I started worth for Datsun Sales Centre in Melbourne CBD (later renamed Melbourne Nissan) and was responsible for vehicle purchase settlements and day-to-day office work.
I left Melbourne Nissan for the birth of my first child, Joel, in 1984.
In 1992 I trained as a Cub Scout leader in Diamond Creek when our eldest son wanted to join and there were insufficient leaders.
Our first home was in Diamond Creek, then we moved to Hurstbridge before moving to Ballarat when Paul (husband) was offered a job with IBM.
As a Cub Scout Leader I then joined the local 'Pack' - 7th Ballarat (in 1996) and became their 'Akela' (leader). Eventually I was the District Cub Scout Leader for all of Ballarat Groups, which I held until Joel became too ill and I became his full time carer.
Over the years I took various casual jobs such as assisting VCE students with disabilities as an integration aide. Also receptionist at the main IBM building in Ballarat and then in their tape library which involved shift work.
In February 2003 our eldest son, Joel passed away from brain tumours.
I was offered a receptionist role with IBM in May 2003 in their new building attached to the Ballarat University. While there I was approached by a manager in 2007 and offered a role as a Compliance Officer checking that IBM was compliant with customer requirements. I was in that role for nearly 9 years before being offered a redundancy.
Having retired I now have time for my hobbies. I ride a motorbike and I am a member of Ulysses Club (a motorcycle social group for the over 40).
In 2019 I was elected to the Ulysses Club national committee (serving 2 years) and in 2021 elected as National Secretary (serving 2 years)
In early 2023 we moved to Western Australia, a very BIG tree change I suppose. Now enjoying the laid-back lifestyle and warmer weather just south of Perth, Western Australia.
My hobbies include genealogy (of course), camping and overseas travel when we get the opportunity.

We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.
Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.
If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.
Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. As you are already a member of the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located, we hope you'll join the chat! It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.
We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
The Australia Project Leadership Team ~ Gillian, Margaret and Veronica
Thanks, Sharryn
Regards, Margaret

I have my DNA via Ancestry and uploaded to GED match but something didn't go right. Hope this is off help to you. Regards Brian Roy CURNOW. From the Mawgan in meneage on the Lizard Cornwall clan, and still in Cornwall.
Have sent several notifications of DNA Confirmation errors since 2019 but as yet they haven't been corrected. This notification is the next step in the Unresponsive Profile Manager Help page. Should the issue continue for more than a few weeks it will be escalated.
Thanks,
Rob
The original manager of these profiles handed them over to me and I have not been given any further information to do with the DNA.
I will read the DNA Confirmation sheet and see if that sheds any light on fixing them.
Kind regards, Sharryn Nankervis
Best, Rob

It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!
If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.
We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!
Gillian, co-Leader, Australia Project

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Take care

Thanks! Great job!
It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.
First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?
Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Amy, Joan & Lizzie.
I have been quite busy this year and also involved with the Australian Project team. I am happy to continue as I am in the England Project however most of my usefulness may be confined to Australia. If you would rather remove me from the England Project team that is ok.
I have used Discord and find it useful and easy to use.
Cheers, Sharryn
I'm glad to hear that you're involved with Australia! Gillian is actually a former leader of England, so I know her well and I'm sure the project is doing well under her and Veronica's leadership.
Whether you would like to remain in both England and Australia is entirely up to you. If you feel like your activity on England work will be limited in the coming months, you are more than welcome to leave the project for now and potentially rejoin in the future, but that is not for anyone else to decide except you. Feel free to get back to me on what you would prefer.
Regards, Amy
At this point in time, I think I am more able to concentrate on the Australia Project. I will leave the England Project for a while.
Regards, Sharryn
Thank you for your participation in October’s 2020 Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.
Keep up the great work!

The Australia Project leadership team are carrying out a check-in to see how you are going in the project and especially to thank you for all your work on Australian profiles on WikiTree. We really value your participation.
Please could you get back to me by private message to let me know if you are happy with your current role and team involvement within the project or if you would like to do something additional or different. Currently you are on the Victoria and Free Settlers teams. If you would like a change, you can check on the Australia Project page to see what other options there are.
It would also be great to hear any feedback and any suggestions that you have to improve the project. On a practical note, if you are a member of the google group, are you receiving messages ok? Also do you have Australia as one of the tags you are following on the G2G? Don't forget to add it in if you don't have that tag yet.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards

Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. Thank you for all your work on English Profiles and in particular your work in Cornwall Team.
These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice, or if you wish to do something additional or different. Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do.
Lizzie
Thanks so very much for your participation in the spring Clean-a-thon! Every suggestion you cleared (over 100!) made our Tree that much better. The WikiTree community appreciates YOU!

I noted after we added you to the Cornwall team your maiden name Bolitho. Recently we added to the Cornwall Notables page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bolitho-290
He was born Madron about 7 mile from Morvah where your ancestors were.
Cheers Roger Davey
The England Project Leaders check-in with the members every six months to see how people are getting on. How are you doing? I notice you have yet to choose which team youd like to be on. Are you having difficulty deciding and can I help you with that? One requirement for membership in the project is that you contribute to a team at least once every six months.
Please respond to me via e-mail.
Many thanks,
Susie, England Project Leader :-)
Thanks! Great job!
Regards Veni
We sent you a message about a week ago about the England Project but have not yet heard back from you. If we don't hear from you by this time next week we'll assume you no longer wish to be in the project.
Many thanks,
Susie, Gillian, Wendy and Amy
On behalf of the England Project Leaders we're carrying out a check-in to see how all the members are doing and taking the opportunity to thank you for all your hard work over the past six months. We have been so impressed with the way everyone has rallied together and gone the extra mile to make this one of the most dedicated, productive and friendly communities on WikiTree. What are you enjoying most about being in the project? What would you like to see improved or changed? Would you like to continue in the project moving forwards?
We're looking forward to hearing back from you,
Susie, Gillian, Wendy and Amy
Concerning William Jilbert, the only reference I could find for his birth was "Cornwall OPC Database, Baptism of William Jilbert baptised 14 October 1770 in St Levan son of William and Martha. Transcribed by Pat Banks, citing Transcribed Baptisms: Apr. 1700 Dec 1812, originally transcribed by W. Treffry Hoblyn in 1931 and presented to the Library by the Transcriber. (http://www.opc-cornwall.org/ Accessed 7 January 2019)" Later in life, I'm sure he went by the name Jelbart which is the name he wrote his will in. I have updated his profile, with the reference and added an aka for Jelbert so that people can find him. Thanks for drawing my attention to his profile that I adopted some time ago. Sandra
Just a comment on Bennet Pascoe - all of the entries on MyHeritage that relate to birth in 1565 are "Circa" as there is no definitive baptism record - so he was probably born between 1555 and 1565 - any later and he could not be married in 1681. It is not a common name so it is likely to be just the one individual.
Stephen

Sharryn (Bolitho) Nankervis and Zoe Cochrane are both descendants of Bennet Pascoe.
Are you related to the Johns family?
