Biography

Dan Firth Bolton was born 15th November 1859 ^[1][2] in Batley, Yorkshire, England, & baptised there 23rd September 1860,^[2] the son of Joseph Bolton & Lucy Firth.

Dan Firth Bolton, age 22, Bachelor, Rag Grinder, of Batley, (son of Joseph Bolton, Engineer) & Mary Redfearn, age 23, Spinster, Weaver, of Batley, (daughter of James Redfearn, Waste Dealer) were married 20th August 1882 in the Parish Church of Batley, Yorkshire, England according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by T. G. Dains (?), Vicar. Dan & Mary both signed. Witnesses were Richard Bolton & James Smith.^[3][4]

Daniel Bolton (age 26), his wife Mary (27), their 2 sons, Charles (2) & Harry (Infant) & his younger brother John Firth Bolton, sailed on the "Waroonga" from London, England on 23rd August 1887 as Remittance Passengers & disembarked at Cooktown, Queensland, Australia in October 1887.^[5]

Dan Firth Bolton died aged 73, on 7th June 1932 ^[6][7] in Cairns, Queensland, Australia & was laid to rest 8th June 1932 at the Martyn Street Cemetery, Cairns, Queensland, Australia.^[7]
