There is little to go on as regards to both George and Amy. We know that George was the son of William and Mary Bond, and that he was baptised 13th February 1756 at St Mary Bourne parish Church Hampshire. And that his future wife Amy Wise was the daughter of Thomas and May Wise, and she was baptised 16th November 1767 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire.

George had at least two brothers who like him were baptsied at Mary Bourn parish church. His elder brother john was baptised 1753, and young Edward who was baptised 1762.

George married Amy Wise in 1790 at St Mary Church Hampshire. Their first child Ann was baptsied 1795. She was followed by Charlotte, who was baptsied 1798. The other two children are Mary baptised 1800, and Sarah baptsied 1804. Their youngest child was William Bond and he was baptsied 1812 at St Mary Bourne parish church, like his sisters before him.

Beyond the baptism of their youngest child William Jnr in 1812, there is little more that can be added to the story of William and Mary Bond.

Amy Bond died in 1837 and was buried 9th February at St Mary Bourne parish church. Although her given age of 67 puts Amy’s date of birth at 1770, which is only three years out. In my opinion this is our Amy. I have not been so lucky finding a death or burial record for George. But it was possibly around about the same time.

A quick rundown of the children of George and Amy Bond The eldest child Ann was baptsied 12th July 1795 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire, and beyond her baptism there is no trace of her.

The second child Charlotte was baptised 8th April 1798 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire. We know that Charlotte married Alexander Day in 1827 at St Mary Bourne parish church. The couple had at least two children, possibly three. The eldest was William Henry Day born 1828, and Am1830, both of whom were baptised at Hurstbourne parish church Hampshire. The third child was Jane Day and may be the child of Alexander and his second wife Sarah Bell, who he married in 1831. Jane’s baptism records that she was the daughter of Alexander and Charlotte, which I think was a mistake on behalf of the person who recorded the baptism. Either that or Jane was the daughter of Charlotte and was baptised after her mother’s death, and her father’s second marriage.

The third child of George and Amy was Mary Bond who was baptised 7th December 1800 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire. We know that Mary married Joseph Bone in 1824 and went on to have at least three children. Sarah (b 1824) Maria (b 1833) and James (b 1839). I have traced Mary up to the 1861 census, but have not yet traced her beyond that date.

The fourth child of George and Amy was Sarah Bond who was baptised 1st July 1804 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire. I have not had much luck in tracing Sarah beyond her baptism.

The fifth child of George and Amy was their only son William Bond who was baptised 12th July 1812 at St Mary Bourne parish church Hampshire. William married Jane Chivers in 1840. Jane was from Wonston near Sutton Scotney Hampshire. The couple had eight children, these are Charles (b 1841) Alfred (b 1844) George (b 1846) Thomas (b 1849) James (b 1850) Alice (b 1853) Mary J (b 1857) and the youngest Rose Sarah (b 1862)
