June Baldwin Bork

In "Wayne Co. Kentucky Pioneers" by June Baldwin Bork, volume 4, there is a multipage description of the Bond family. On page 249 there is a sketch of Joel Bond. He came to Wayne Co. when young, lived there about 25 years, moved to Breckinridge Co., Kentucky, stayed there a short time, then moved to Miller Co., Missouri about 1835, where he died. His wife died there a few years after he did. They had 7 children, 3 of whom (Lewis G., Margaret, and Stephen W.) were alive in 1885. The others were Benjamin, William, Joel, and Elizabeth. William Mayberry Bond was born in Wayne Co. 2 Oct 1815, married in Miller Co., and died in Cole Co. 9 Jan 1874. This sketch says Joel Bond died 1 Feb 1876/1878 and that his wife was a daughter of George Hinds. Both assertions are wrong. He died 1 Feb 1856. See Find-a-Grave.

Hinds Intermarriages

Joel, William, Joseph, and Isaac Bond are brothers. Joel married Jane Hinds, and William married her sister Charity. Joseph married Abigail Hinds, an aunt of Jane and Charity. William's son John Washington Bond married Charity's first cousin Margaret Hinds, a daughter of George Hinds. Isaac's daughter Jane N. Bond married Charity's second cousin Benjamin Hinds, a son of Joseph Hinds. Joseph's son John Bond married Marian Brady (see Joseph Hinds's will).
