1985 Obituary: "Rite conducted for woman, 99. A private graveside service was held Friday in Eugene for Livia Bond Marsters-Duckworth. She died June 24 at the age of 99 at the Milwaukie Convalescent Home in Milwaukie. She was born Oct 14, 1885, in Irving, northwest of Eugene. She studied music and graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oregon in 1910. She married Carlos Marsters and moved to the Portland area in 1910. After his death in 1933, she married Clarence Duckworth in 1948. She was a member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and continued teaching piano into her 90s. She was a past president of the Hollywood Business and Professional Women and lived independently in her Hollywood District home near Portland until she was almost 99 years old. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Harlow Call of Arcata, Calif., Donald Marsters of Beavercreek and Mrs. Raymond Chaney of Oak Grove; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Lane County Pioneer Museum in Eugene."
