The Star-Vindicator is grieved, sorely and sincerely grieved, to learn of the death of Dr. T. J. Bond, of Atoka, I.T. It was not entirely unexpected, as the Doctor had been lying low for some time past, but from our advices last week we had hoped the hand of the grim monster would. He had suffered long and patiently having been considered in the last stage of consumption for fifteen years or more; but on last Monday, the first day of April, his suffering ceased--his pain was over--the spirit went back to the God who gave it. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the 30; when the inanimate form of our lamented brother was followed to the grave by a large concourse of weeping friends and relatives, and laid away, for the sleep of ages, with Masonic honors. In all that goes to make up the better part of our nature Dr. T. J. Bond was far above the average of his race. Kind, affable and unassuming; generous to a fault and the very soul of honor itself, he passed from the cradle to the grave without ever having a single breath of reproach breathed upon his spotless name. A great deal more extended notice than we are now prepared to give is due from the Star-Vindicator to the distinguished dead, as soon as we are in possession of fuller particulars of his life it will be given. Meanwhile our sorrows and sympathies are with the lone widow who so sadly mourns the going away of him who was the light of her life--the idol of her heart, and who will return to her no more.
