Edward W. Bondy
SOUTH ROCKWOOD - Edward W. Bondy, 65, of 6954 S. Huron River Dr., South Rockwood, died yesterday in Mercy Hospital, Monroe. He had been in poor health for four years.
Friends may call at the Clark H. Ford and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rockwood. The Rev. Mel Blanchett, nephew of Mr. Bondy, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Sauter will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Newport.
The son of James and Olive Bondy, he was born Dec. 23, 1904, in South Rockwood. He married Loretta LaBo April 28, 1926, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rockwood. She died March 1, 1968.
Mr. Bondy retired from Monsanto Chemical Co., Trenton, in 1967 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, Beldren of Monroe and William of Carleton; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Metzger of Rockwood, Mrs. Donald (Kathy) Abrams of South Rockwood, and Sister Sharon, IHM, of Adrian; two brothers, Benjamin and Russell of South Rockwood; a sister, Mrs. Ernest (Hazel) Blanchett of Newport, and 38 grandchildren.
