  • Note this gives no indication that John Bone is Hugh Bones brother. Would he not have to have declared that?
  • Siblings often witnessed documents like marriage bonds and deeds and rarely is there any indication of relationship. Hugh also was bondsman for his brother's marriage to Catherine Adams. Hugh lived near his brother when the family moved to Madison County, KY. One of Hugh's grandchildren wrote a letter in the 1880s to a cousin Bertha listing the family genealogy including John and many of his children and grandchildren, many of whom he had personally known. He would have been born before many of John and Hugh's generation died.

The correct John Bone's record is on a different page. This John Bone died 1842.

Research Notes

  • The birth date had a slight difference 9th against 19th I used the earlier date only that it may be birth against Baptism. This need resolving with sources.
  • The marriage to Jane Hill is suspect a record dated 1798 is present. This gives 2 children born before the marriage date. Are they this John Bones children or did they remarry? or are two John Bones being conflated.
  • The death is subject to differences. Before the merge an unsourced date of 10 Jul 1832 in Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky, USA was present. However census records for the only John Bone in Muhleneurg has census records for 1820, 1830 and 1840 ! 1842 uncertain has been kept. in the profile. A War record for a John Bone gives 27 July 1840 this seems reasonable.
  • The John Bone who died 1840 was a different John Bone. The pension payment lists 2nd after that John Bone. This John Bone record is on a different page and last payment ceased in 2nd half of 1842. John Bone veteran of Hickman County, Kentucky, was a different John Bone.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Bone-1191 and Bone-258 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate try to source death before merging or leave notes in the bio.

Bone-258 and Bone-1191 are not ready to be merged because: Bone-1191 has an incorrect death date with no sources. Bone-258 died in 1842 in Muhlenberg KY. He is found in the 1840 census, has revolutionary war payments through 1842 and transactions of his estate are not found in court order records until after 1842. There is no date of execution of his will written earlier that I've found.
