1899 William Harold Bonnell was born on 13 Jun 1899 in North Freedom, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA.[1]
1900 Harold's parents lived in Freedom town, North Freedom village, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA in 1900. His father was employed as a tinsmith. The Bonnell household comprised:
1910 The Bonnells had finally been blessed with a daughter about 1908. William was employed as a carpenter and they still lived in North Freedom, Wisconsin.
1918 Harold registered for the US WWI draft in Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA on 12 Sep 1918. At the time he was working for Arthur Voeck in his garage in North Freedom, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Harold was described as of medium height and build with brown eyes and black hair.[5]
1920 - 9 Jan Harold remained with his family on Walnut Street in North Freedom, Wisconsin at the time of the 1920 US census in Wisconsin. He continued to earn a living as a carpenter. The household comprised:
1920 - 12 Jan By 12 Jan 1920 Harold had moved to Aberdeen, Brown County, South Dakota, USA and was living with his adopted brother Arthur and Arthur's wife Pearl. Both Arthur and Pearl were employed as bookkeepers. Harold worked as a truck driver for the county. The household also included Pearl's brother David Harris, who was employed as as "agent" for rugs and silverware:

1923 About this time Harold married Helen (Holm ?), who had been born in South Dakota of Norwegian parents.[8][9]
1924 Daughter Dorothy L. Bonnel was born in South Dakota, USA.[10]
1925 Harold reported on the South Dakota 1925 Census that he had lived in South Dakota for seven years and that his occupation was "clerk." He also reported that his father was born in France and his mother was born in England.
[8] His daughter Dorothy L. Bonnell was recorded as living in Darian, (Aberdeen post office), Brown County, South Dakota, USA. Although only one year old, she reported that her father was born in Wisconsin and her mother in South Dakota.[10]
1930 Harold stuck by his belief that his father was born in Paris, France but reported that his mother was born in Germany. He, Helen, and daughter Dorothy lived in Aberdeen, Brown County, Wisconsin, USA where Harold worked as a shipping clerk for Ward-Owsley Candy Company, which closed that very year.[11] His household comprised:
1940 Likely as a result of the closing of the candy company in Aberdeen, Harold and his family returned to Wisconsin by 1935, settling in Madison Town, Dane County. Harold worked as a mechanic for a dairy company and Helen worked as a housekeeper in a private home.
1995 Harold William Bonnell died 25 Feb 1995 and was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA.[13][14][15]
