Biography

Hannah Broadwell was presumably born about 1699, because her mother (Mary Searing) was listed as still living with her parents during the 1698 Census at Hempstead, New York. If Hannah was married to Richard Broadwell in 1714 (at age 15), then their eldest child Sarah was probably born in 1715 and was also married at age 15 in 1730 (her first child born in 1731). Research by Kenneth Kinman

Update by Cynthia (Wilfong) Mangiafico: When Hannah Bonnell was born in 1694 her father, Nathaniel, was 24 and her mother, Mary, was 22. She married Richard Broadwell in 1712. They had six children in 12 years. She died on June 19, 1736, in New Jersey, at the age of 42.

Update by R. Neff: Hannah was deceased before June 19, 1736, when her father's will was either created or executed. In fact, she was apparently deceased before her husband's death in July 1732.

Hannah was born in 1694. She passed away in 1736.

Bonnell-959 and Bonnell-32 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse, one child the same.

I haven't seen the 1698 census, but given the customs at that time, I'd be more inclined to believe that her mother was staying at her parent's place because of a multitude of reasons (house damage, marriage issues, etc) rather than two generations of women getting married at age 15. Average marriage age for a woman then was early 20's.
