Biography

Mary was born in 1754. She passed away in 1776. [1]

When the Loyalists arrived in New Brunswick in 1783, Major Guilford Studholm in Saint John sent a party of four surveyors up the Saint John River to collect information about the old inhabitants, the status of their title to land, their character, loyalty, etc. Jeremiah Howland that year was living in (The Township of Newton, now the Parish of St. Marys, and the surveyors reported: [2]) "Jeremiah Howland has a wife and four children; been on the river about 16 years, but in the place he now possesses about one year and a half. Has a log house and about 4 acres of cleared land. [3] He predeceased his father. In his father's estate, Jeremiah's share was to go to his five heirs, who were not named. Presumably they were five children.[4] .

Mary was born about 1754. She is the daughter of Joseph Boobar and Matha Grover. [5]
