Edith was born around 1891 in New Zealand. She was the daughter of George Booker and Margaret Davidson Chiverson.

She married George Simeon Stonehouse around 1913. They had three sons.

She passed away on 22 October 1960 at her residence, 141 Harewood Road, Christchurch, at 69 years old. She was buried in Waimairi Cemetery Block AN40 Plot 9.
