Jane was born on 1st March 1798 and baptised Jean at South Leith church, Edinburgh, Midlothian on 25th March.[1]
Jane married the carpenter James Mason at Leith, the banns being called on 19th January 1824. At the time she was living in North Leith. Witnesses were William Ross and David Mason[2].
In the 1841 census Jane (age 35) was in Coburg Street[3]
In 1851 she is with her husband James at Narrow Lane[4].
In the 1861 census Jane (age 62) was the widow head of household at 10 Dock Place[5].
Jane (Boon) Mason migrated from Scotland to New Zealand.
She passed away about 28th November 1871[7] and is buried at the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin.[8]
