Josiah BOONE was condemned for a "disorderly" marriage, but the name of his wife is not mentioned. Josiah's children signed a deed for their interest in their father's estate which is on record in Versailles, Woodford Co, KY.
DAR records indicate that Josiah married 1st Hannah Henton, and 2nd Hannah Hite.[1]
Josiah married Hannah Ann Henton (dau of George HENTON and Persis BOONE) on 30 Aug 1750 at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Marlatton, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On 24 Jun 1752 he was condemned and removed from the Quaker Religion for a disorderly marriage. (the confusion in the date this entry was made in Quaker Records is the difference between the calendar the Quakers used and what is used today)
On 18 Jan 1753 he was named in the will of his Father George Boone IV.
Wife Hannah Henton died sometime before 1761.
In 1761 he married Shawki Chirasha Boone (1741 - 1820), daughter of Chirasha, her father was a unknown French Officer, and Lenomi, who was a white woman captured by the Shawnee in Canada.
From records we have been able to find they indicate Shawki used the English name of Hannah which led to the confusion of individuals thinking the first Hannah was still living)
They had the following children: Deborah Boone (1769 - ____), her twin sister Ruhemah Thompson (1768 - ____) and Hannah Boone Barger (1767 - ____).
(Descendants of these children have submitted DNA testing to prove their lineage)
