Biography

John Booth was son of John Booth of Old Durham in County Durham and his wife, Margery Walden, daughter of William Walden of Huntingdon. [1]

About 1650 he married Lucy Whitney, daughter of Sir Robert Whitney of Whitney in Herefordshire and widow of William Smallman of Kinnersley Castle.[1] They were parents of an only child, their daughter.[1]

Lucy Booth died on the 5th of April 1763 and John subsequently married Rebecca Vincent, daughter of Daniel Vincent, merchant of Ironmonger Lane in London, and widow of Sir John Kyrle. [1] They had no children. [1]

John was also father of an illegitimate daughter. [1]

He passed away on the 1st of March 1705 and was buried in Hereford Cathedral. [1]
